Robert Post has investigated thousands of collisions and over 250 fatal motor vehicle crashes in his 35 year career with the Norman Police Department. Collision investigations involved rural, city street, low speed and high speed collisions. He was the sole Traffic Accident Specialist for the City of Norman, Oklahoma, a city with about 193 square miles, the third largest city in Oklahoma, and adjacent to Oklahoma City.
Robert Post joined the Norman Police Department in 1973. After graduation from the Norman Police Academy he was assigned to the patrol division. In May 1978, Robert became a member Traffic Unit where his sole duties consisted of investigating traffic accidents and enforcing traffic laws and ordinances. In 1983, Robert was assigned to the position of Traffic Accident Specialist at the Norman Police Department, a position he held until retirement after 35 years of service in 2008. While serving as the Traffic Accident Specialist for over 25 years, he investigated and reconstructed fatal collisions, trained officers in the police academy and in the field, reviewed thousands of collision reports each year, and maintained traffic collision records for the City of Norman.
After police retirement Robert Post formed Post Accident Reconstruction LLC, offering over 35 years of knowledge and experience in the form of professional reconstruction services. He has been providing private traffic accident reconstruction consultation services to attorneys and insurance companies. He has received a full Accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist from Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) and has appeared as an expert witness in city, state, and federal courts.
